Guests are tasked with bringing a hotdish, salad, dessert or some other tasty, homemade dish to pass, labeled with info on contents (gluten, nuts, OK for vegans, etc.).
The hostess provides beer, wine, fizzy water, maybe juice and/or soda. Very important details on beverage detail: The community center insists on dispensing wine and beer from the hallway bar. In addition to the usual array of wine, the hostess is providing (just) a 1/6 (yes, one-sixth or 55 12-ounce servings) barrel of Lake Louis Warped Speed Scotch Ale is on offer. AND, the community center will sell you whatever you want to drink. However, Hoedown experts think guests will drink less with the bar in the hallway.
Contrary to the paper invitation, the kids’ room is back, but likely under parental supervision.
Jell-O singing will occur if the crowd so demands.
Food pantry donations accepted. Pantry staff especially want spaghetti/pasta sauce; diced or stewed tomatoes; soup, anything but tomato; salad dressing; cereal; and regular size paper grocery bags.
To stay on the guest list, people who cannot attend or realize later they muddled the dates should let the hostess know, even after the party.
